It’s
very easy to dream you are now a billionaire or owns a big company, owns the
largest hospital or just became one of the famous structural engineers,
mechanical engineer, electrical engineer, civil engineer, Architect, a good
artist, a talented singer, intelligent banker and etcetera. It’s very easy to
tell people around that, you want to become a medical doctor or a lawyer. But
working towards achieving those bright dreams becomes difficult. Many of us had
the privilege of having great dreams in life, but when it comes to turning them
into reality, we get discourage by so many factors that will later arise. I
almost erased this chapter out of this book, but when I thought of how
important it will be to you and others, I had no option than to retrieve it
back.
High
percentages of students in most of our tertiary institutions today are studying
some courses they never dreamt of. While for some, they are been compelled by
their parents/guardians’ to study some courses in the university, that are not
part of God’s project in their life. As a result, destinies are been wasted
daily. Youths that are considered to be the leaders of tomorrow are now turning
into killers of tomorrow. We will discuss latter in chapter nine, where I
stated categorically, the significance of education to those natural abilities
in us, in this our contemporary world. No wonder thousands of youth are
graduating from the university and are adding to the number of high
unemployment rate in the labor market. Someone who is supposed to attend a
school and acquire knowledge, to sharpen his/her life for better performance of
their natural abilities, are been stopped by so many factors. Youths that ought
to be doing something better with their lives are adding to the number of our
nation’s terrorists, prostitutes, high way robbers and on the street practicing
all sought evil all in the name of striving for survival. They end up doing
nothing, just wasting the resources in them and their time here on earth.
I
believe one of the reasons why you are still reading this book is to test if it
could help you in reaching to those powerful dreams you once had. Reaching to
your dreams requires a lot of things. Basically, you’ve got to know that you
can’t reach to where you don’t know. You have to dream it. Joseph in the bible
dreamt it, before he reached it. I had a dream at young age, that I would one
day become an international speaker and researcher. I’m still on my way to reaching
that dream. What I want you to understand is, you must dream it. Dreaming it
gives you the direction and focus you need. Dreaming it allows you to be aware
of the abilities in you and areas of life you will make great exploits.
A dream
is an inspiring mental picture of the future that creates in you the hope of
achieving anything. It energizes you and empowers you to go beyond your limit.
It’s the most common weapon all successful people used in the battle field of
life.
Now,
these are three common reasons why most people end up not reaching to their
dreams.
